Art lovers invited to the “Hero” business center: new exhibition “Gelmė” by Ieva Trinkūnaitė now open

At the “Hero” business center, alongside the permanent installations by V. Suncov and paintings by S. Strėlė, visitors can explore the exhibition “Gelmė” by emerging artist Ieva Trinkūnaitė until April 3.

The newest business center in Vilnius, “Hero”, is increasingly establishing itself not only as a modern workspace focused on people’s wellbeing, but also as a cultural space. Last Friday, the exhibition “Gelmė”, presented by The Rooster Gallery, opened here – a sensitive and contemporary exploration of the relationship between humans and nature, where aesthetics merge with ecological reflection.

“Our collaboration with Realco began last year, when a solo exhibition ‘nieko tokio’ by another artist we represent, Vita Opolskytė, was presented at their ‘Algirdo 3’ project. I truly hope this collaboration will become a tradition, and that together with Realco we will continue to pleasantly surprise art lovers in the future across their other projects,” says Jurgita Juospaitytė-Bitinienė, founder of The Rooster Gallery.

The exhibition by I. Trinkūnaitė at the “Hero” business center (Lvivo St. 21) can be visited until April 3, from Thursday to Saturday between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and on Sundays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer artists a new and distinctive space to exhibit their work. Last September, an exhibition by another emerging artist held at our ‘Algirdo 3’ project received a great deal of positive feedback and demonstrated that art does not have to be limited to galleries – it can also become a pleasant and unexpected discovery in business environments,” says Gintarė Žemaitė, Head of Commercial Real Estate Development at Realco, the company behind the “Hero” business center.

A fragile balance of the world

In her latest works, I. Trinkūnaitė presents a thoughtful perspective on the oceans, the diversity of life within them, and the threats this diversity faces.

“In landscapes of water and coastal environments, where creatures of both water and land coexist, we are reminded once again that we are all part of the same continuum of life. We breathe the same air, and every second molecule of oxygen is generated by the ocean – the Earth’s most vital lungs,” says the artist.

She believes that even a small change within a sensitive ecosystem can trigger powerful consequences affecting us all. Through her works, in which animals are depicted with great care and delicacy, the artist explores interspecies relationships, their fragility, and captures moments of delicate harmony.

“I capture and preserve the idyll of our vulnerable world – clear rippling waters, shimmering light, harmony and companionship,” says I. Trinkūnaitė, adding that ecological tension in her work naturally intertwines with a melancholic longing for a world that can change in an instant.

Not the first cultural event

The exhibition by I. Trinkūnaitė at the “Hero” business center is far from the first cultural event held here. The space has already hosted several art projects: installations by artist Vlad Suncov are exhibited in the naturally lit atriums, while paintings by Latvian artist Sandra Strėlė decorate the walls of the shared spaces.

Last November, the internationally renowned and prestigious 70th anniversary “World Press Photo” exhibition was also held at the business center for several weeks.

“We aim for our projects to incorporate not only the latest technologies and innovative architectural solutions, but also to contribute to people’s cultural experience through their interior spaces. That is why we are particularly pleased when projects become a place where architecture, art and people naturally come together,” says Žemaitė.

About the artist

Ieva Trinkūnaitė, born in 1997, graduated in 2020 from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a degree in graphics. The artist works in intaglio techniques, creates mixed media drawings and paintings. She has held solo exhibitions in Lithuania and South Korea and has been actively participating in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and internationally since 2018. Her works are included in international foundations and museum collections, including the TAAD Foundation, Sun Blanket Foundation and the China Printmaking Museum.
